Day 01: Border Crossing & Mekong Cruise to Pakbeng
Meet your guide at the Laos border exit between 08:00 AM to 08:30 AM for a van transfer to the Houeixay pier. Board a comfortable riverboat at 09:30 AM for a Mekong cruise, enjoying a walking tour of a remote riverside village and onboard complementary happy hour before arriving in Pakbeng by late afternoon.
Day 02: Mekong Cruise to Luang Prabang
Boarding a 7-8 hours cruise down the Mekong. Along the way, enjoy on board cooking class and explore the sacred, Buddha-filled Pak Ou Caves. Arrive in the UNESCO-listed city of Luang Prabang by late afternoon for an orientation walk and explore the handmade Hmong crafts at the night market.
Day 03: Luang Prabang City Tour & Night Market
Witness the dawn Alms Giving Ceremony, followed by a tuk-tuk city tour of Wat Xieng Thong and the National Museum. The afternoon, board on the tuk-tuk and cross the ferry for vat longkhoun and potery village, Banchan on the other side of the Mekong. Return to Luangprabang by late afternoon, choice to climb up Mount Phou Si with 328 steps before the hotel.
Day 04: Kuang Si Waterfalls & Living Land Farm
Swim in the natural pools of KuangSi Waterfalls and visit Ban Non Sa-at village. In the afternoon, try traditional rice farming techniques at the community-run Living Land Farm.
Day 05: Cultural Villages & Sunset at Ock Pop Tok
Free time to rest in the morning, explore Luang Prabang at your own pace. In the Afternoon, visit a local silk and traditional Saa paper-making village to watch artisans at work. Wrap up the day with a relaxing sunset drink on the Mekong riverbank at the Ock Pop Tok Living Crafts Centre.
Day 06: Luangprabang to Vangvieng by train
Transit to Vang Vieng, Travel by high speed train past rural villages to the eco-hub of Vang Vieng. Check in and hike up to ThamJang Cave for sweeping panoramic views of the limestone valley.
Day 07: Sight seeing Vangvieng & Kayaking
Kayaking down the Nam Song River and walk through Ban Viengsamai village. After lunch at Angel Cave (your own choice), spend the afternoon swimming in the turquoise waters of the Blue Lagoon or hiking up to explore Phoukham Cave.
Day 08: Vangvieng - Vientiane (sight seeing)
Depart Vang Vieng in the morning and take a smooth, efficient drive down to the capital city of Vientiane via the express highway. Enjoy lunch on your own, followed by the sightseeing, Pha That Luang the country's land mark, Wat Sisaket, and Patuxai.
Day 09: Vientiane - Bolaven Plateau & Ancient Wat Phou
Discover the Bolaven Highlands with a visit to Tad Fane Waterfall, a coffee plantation tour, and a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, explore the ancient, uncrowded Khmer ruins of Wat Phou on foot before spending the night in the riverside town of Champasak.
Day 10: Bolaven Plateau to Donkhone
Board a local boat for a 2-hour cruise down the Mekong River delta into the Si Phan Don (4,000 Islands) archipelago. Observe local fishing and island life before checking into your hotel on the quiet island of Don Khone for a fresh fish dinner on the terrace.
Day 11: Don Khone Waterfalls & Colonial History
Explore Don Khone's French colonial relics before marveling at Khone Phapheng Waterfall, the largest waterfall by volume in Southeast Asia. After a midday break, walk the custom pathways along the rushing rapids of Li Phi Falls and enjoy a farewell sunset dinner.
Day 12: Departure
Enjoy final free time for relaxation. You will then be picked up from your hotel for a direct transfer to the airport for your flight in Pakse.
